Pact Group is delighted to announce that it has been awarded the 2015 World Dairy Innovation Award for the Murray Goulburn Flip Top Cream Cap (also known as the Easy Pour and Seal Lid) in the Best Dairy Packaging Innovation category. FoodBev Media administers the World Dairy Innovation Awards held annually at the Global Dairy Congress.
The awards, presented last night in Amsterdam, are designed to celebrate excellence and innovation across every category of the global dairy industry. This year, the awards received over 200 nominations from more than 30 countries.
General Manager Greg Beilby said upon receiving the award “We are truly thrilled to be recognised in the Global Dairy Innovation Awards as a leader within the packaging industry. We are delighted to win this category this year, having been placed as a finalist last year with our Light Proof bottle”.
The Easy Pour and Seal Lid hinged cream cap was developed over a 12 month period by Pact Group and is one of the first packaging innovation within the cream category to be recognised for many years. The cap has been designed to enhance the consumer experience of opening, pouring and resealing cream containers in a more easy to use and hygienic manner. It also eliminates the tear strip commonly used on other cream containers which can be difficult to open and problematic when pouring. Murray Goulburn was first to adopt the technology, launching it under their Devondale brand.
This recent award adds to Pact Group’s successful trophy cabinet, having been listed by BRW as one of Australia’s most innovative companies for the past 2 years, and winning a World Star award for their Light proof milk bottle earlier this year.
